ABCs that never end
On a car ride to Who Knows Where, Tom started belting out the ABCs. Around “p” I caught on to what he was doing. He got through them pretty handedly, and sang, “Now I know my a, b, c, d, e, f…” I started cracking up. This is when my wife noticed he was singing the ABCs. He made it to the end of the alphabet, and again sang, “Now I know my a, b, c, d, e, f…”
We were dying. It was hilarious.
We let him go through the third and fourth time. On the fourth time he got to “z” and we started cheering wildly, telling him he did such a good job on his ABCs. He was beaming, from ear to ear. Clapped for himself. He loved life. I think 50% of it was due to finding an end point for the song.
When the cheering subsided, we heard the little man start again, “A, b, c, d, e, f…”
