Every fall our family goes to a pumpkin patch. My wife loves the pumpkins, apple picking, baked goods, petting zoo, kiddo activity and farm fun provided at these fall festivities.
This year we headed west into Indiana to find a farm. They put on one heck of a pumpkin picking party, with a mini farmer scavenger hunt for the kids, and well, the adults were just entertained watching the kids.
We lost Huck twice.
You’d think after the first scolding he wouldn’t have wandered off again. You’d be wrong.
We lost him the second time preparing to venture into the corn maze. He was ready to go. We were not.
Halfway through our trek through the corn maze I told some kind of joke. I’m sure it was a corn pun. And I’m sure it was as corny as it could possible be.
My wife says something along the lines of, “Your dad thinks he’s funny.”
“Hey, I know I’m funny…looking,” I said.
And then Huck, without missing a beat chimes in, “At least looking, and not smelling!”
